The Blanket

The area is located in the Yser valley, between East Vleteren and Diksmuide, in the province of West Flanders. The visitor centre is located in the beautiful Blankaart castle. Through the Blankaart marsh and along the Blankaart pond you will find child-friendly cycle routes and walks. Boardwalks take you to bird-watching huts and a watchtower to watch the birds in peace. When the water in the area is high enough, a whisper boat takes you silently through the marsh.

The Iron Orchard

This unique domain is located in the shadow of the IJzer Tower and at walking distance from the centre of Diksmuide. Discover the beautiful polder landscape with its network of walking and playing facilities.

The Eel Brook

A stone’s throw from Ypres, in the middle of a hilly and wooded landscape, lies the Palingbeek provincial park. Ponds and marshes, old and young forests, orchards and flowery meadows, sunbathing meadows or a playground alternate.
